Rainbow Trout
This species is met in many rivers and lakes of Kamchatka. Its closest relative is American rainbow trout bred in farm ponds. Rainbow trout is a silver fish with multiple black spots scattered on the body and a bright pink lateral line. Its length is up to 65-90 cm; some specimens may grow 0.5-1.5 kg, and sometimes much more. Spawning takes place in spring: May or June.
Rainbow trouts prefers fast flow and is rarely met in calm reaches. Its favorable stocking places are breakage and separate logs drawn by the fast flow as well as eroded riverbank sections. Some specimens stay in the holes under the breakage close to the flow.
